Advocacy Positions - Job Description

 

Are you an animal lover who's committed to the health and happiness of your

non-human animal friends? Can you talk the ear off of anyone within arms length about your hope for the future of all living creatures? Do you promote humane treatment for all animals when you're out and about and desire to educate the public about the ways that animals are abused, neglected or mistreated - without bringing people down? Are you passionate about volunteer service? Then we want you!

 

We’re looking for creative and conscientious individuals to join our Primate Pack Advocacy Team to help manage and deliver our primate welfare campaigns and outreach activities at Prime Earth.

Duties Include:

  • Assisting with behind-the-scenes research on various areas of concern in the animal welfare movement specifically related to primates.

 

  • Creating primate welfare campaigns and calls-to-action that raise awareness of gibbons, drive target audiences to our website, and generate leads for our programs and services.

 

  • Helping us spread the word by executing initiatives to raise money for our animal welfare projects.

 

  • Participating in outreach engagement with our target audiences by attending scheduled festivals and events.

 

  • Conducting and updating campaign analyses to evaluate the effectivness of Prime Earth’s campaign tactics. (We'll teach you how to do this.)

Skill Set Needed:

  • WORDSMITH - You are a writer who knows how to craft crisp, engaging, and positive copy. We’re looking for someone who believes the glass is half full and knows there is always hope when it comes to conservation and animal welfare issues. If you have a gift for writing emotional, uplifting, and thought provoking headlines, this position is for you!

 

  • DESIGN DYNAMO - You know your way around Photoshop and know how to visualize data. We’re looking for someone who can dazzle us when it comes to digital design. If you have a gift for creating compelling infographics, engaging visual content, and are confident when it comes to graphic design, we need your digital talent!

 

  • PASSION FOR CONSERVATION - You know the ropes when it comes to everything from howler monkeys to chimpanzees OR maybe you can't name every species of primate but you definitely know humans need trees and water to live and things like cutting down forests and polluting our oceans will lead to human extinction. We're looking for someone who can sing loud and clear with gibbon-like crescendo across the forest on the conservation issues that matter most to human and non-human primates. If you have a gift for positive and uplifting engagement with others and are passionate about conservation, let's connect and get things going!

  • Time commitment: 

- 4 to 8 hours/week

- Minimum of 3 month commitment

- Possibility for extension

 

  • These positions are available for local volunteers in Ontario, Canada.
